A Wonderful Year of Family Renewal

We have had a wonderful year so far at Laity Lodge Family Camp. As of October 1, we have had 172 families totaling 680 guests in 10 family camps. We expect to have 90 more families in five camps to attend throughout the fall.  That will be over 1,050 guests experiencing family camp.

In August, we had our first simultaneous family camps at Echo Valley and Singing Hills. At Echo Valley, we had 20 families from all over Texas and beyond come to spend quality time together. At Singing Hills, we partnered with Dave Roever ministries to provide family camp for 18 wounded warriors and their families.  It was a life-changing camp for these families. Fifteen people became followers of Christ, and eight were baptized. The Echo Valley camp was an amazing time of renewal. The Singing Hills camp was a tremendous time for conversion and healing.

Our Labor Day Family Camp was a great success with 17 families at Singing Hills and more on the wait list. Families signed up for next year the moment they returned home. It is already full for 2011, with one family on the wait list. There may be cancellations, so put your name on the wait list if you are interested.

The LLYC ’80s Alumni Camp was also an amazing weekend. LLYC staff during the 1980s gathered at Singing Hills with their families for a time of fellowship and growth. This weekend was so popular that it filled up in less than six hours. We accommodated the wait list by offering to house families at Echo Bluff. We plan to add a second ’80s camp so that all can come next year.

Upcoming Camp Dates

We still have room at our November 19-21 camp and our second annual Ski Camp at Waunita Hot Springs. By the end of 2010, we will have had two LLYC Alumni camps, three outreach partnership camps, one wounded warriors partnership camp, five church camps, and five open camps.

Next year, we have six family camps scheduled in the spring, and five are full. We are adding the Outbound Haiti Camp for LLFC July 8-16. Dave Roever’s Wounded Warriors camp will be back, and we are registering for our summer weeklong camp already. The Labor Day camp is already full. We will be offering seven weekend camps and one ski camp next fall.

We look forward to seeing you soon at Laity Lodge Family Camp.

Faithfully,

John S. Hill
