Jen Ryan and I met our family’s first year going to Family Camp. We shared a van to go horseback riding and figured out we were from the same city! I asked Jen to share a little bit about why they love Family Camp.

We look forward to Laity Lodge Family Camp Every year! It is a time when we can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and reconnect as a family. I love that cell phones don’t work there simply because they are a daily pull for our attention.
We originally went with our church as a family retreat. We fell in love instantly and have decided that we will try to go every year. Now we have been twice, only missing last year because I very pregnant. (and so bummed that we didn’t make it!) Both times we went in September, and the weather has been absolutely amazing!
There are tons of activities available; we have done a family craft, canoeing, and horseback riding. We have also napped, gone fishing, and my husband has even gone for a run. Doing nothing is an option that we have chosen as well!
I am reminded every year of how big our God is! It is so humbling be out his His creation without all of the distractions that life puts in our paths. We have time to connect and pray as a family. We leave there closer to each other and putting our trust more into God than ourselves.
