The Setting
Laity Lodge Family Camp shares a 1900 acre facility with camps of all types through the Foundations for Laity Renewal. We are located in the scenic Hill Country of Texas. Even the best photos don’t do it justice. In a pristine canyon, carved in the middle of the rolling hills of Central Texas, you will encounter a blending of faith and nature. There is something special happening here. Bubbling, cold, and clear from deep springs, the Frio River has carved a glorious notch through the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Among the cypress and oak trees, an extravagant array of plants, birds, fish, and land animals move freely along the sparkling water of the Frio. Driving down into the Canyon bottom, and then literally driving upstream through the Frio River, even long-time visitors invariably gasp at this rare and glorious place.
Our camps are currently located in either Singing Hills or Echo Valley campgrounds. Laity Lodge Youth Camp also uses these same facilities for Youth Camp programs June and July each summer. Each family at Family Camp has their own cabin with private showers and toilets. With summertime average low temperature in the mid 60’s, cabins do not have air conditioning throughout most of the year. We do have AC available based on need during the hotter months.
